The Volition Project

"volition [vəˈlɪʃən], n.

1. the act of exercising the will of one's own volition

2. the faculty or capability of conscious choice, decision, and intention; the will

3. the resulting choice or resolution

[from Medieval Latin volitiō, from Latin vol- as in volō 'I will', present stem of velle 'to wish']“

The Volition Project was founded some standard years ago by a small group of entrepreneurs and adventurers with the aim of venturing into the unknown that lies just beyond our doorstep in space. We recognise the limits a civilisation subjects itself to by staying put without intrepid expansion. We are curious frontiersmen and -women. We want to explore these worlds out there and drive the frontier ever further by finding new places and by claiming worthy assets for generations of pioneers who may follow in our wake.

To illustrate our extraordinary determination, we have chosen to team up and to bundle our efforts under one project. Furthermore, we chose the term 'volition' in the project's name and to embrace its true meaning. It is to demonstrate our commitment - our will! - to pursue our goals and to overcome obstacles wherever they present themselves.

The Volition Project is multiversal. It has always been. We have journeyed far and wide, took part in all kinds of savoury (and maybe less savoury) enterprises and established outposts and companies in various versions of reality and in different universes at different points in time. Some of these endeavours include the New Eden Cluster of stars (EVE Online) and its associated wormhole pockets and the relatively unexplored rimward territories of the Euclid Galaxy (No Man's Sky).

Currently the Volition Project is primarily active in Human inhabited space (colloquially named the 'Bubble') of the Milky Way Galaxy, mankind's original home (Elite: Dangerous).

We strive to discover and understand the rich history of these places, their myths and legends and thereby the endless possibilities of all things connected. Maybe we are living in a multiverse after all!
